This Chocolate Chip Banana Bread is extra moist, loaded with fresh bananas, has chocolate chips in every bite and is a real crowd pleaser!
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees. In a large bowl, mash your ripe bananas until fully mashed. Set aside. In a smaller bowl, melt your butter. To the melted butter, add your granulated and brown sugar. Using a whisk, whisk together until creamy.
Directly add the butter/sugar mixture to the large bowl with the mashed bananas. Next, add in your eggs, sour cream and the vanilla extract. Mix to combine.
Using a sifter, sift the flour, baking soda and salt into the banana mixture. Mix only until incorporated. Don’t over mix!
Gently fold in 1/2 cup of semi sweet chocolate chips.
Grease a 9x5 loaf pan with butter and then line with parchment paper. Add your batter directly to the pan. Top with additional chocolate chips if desired. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick can be fully inserted and come out clean.
Once done, let cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes and then remove and place on a cooling rack. Enjoy a slice warm with butter!
For this recipe (and most of my recipes), I used salted butter. It's a personal preference. Feel free to use unsalted butter for this recipe.
