  • 4-5 medium apples, sliced thinly (i used a variety of gala and honeycrisp)
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • juice of half a lemon
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1-2 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • sprinkling of turbinado sugar
  • whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (optional)

  1. Preheat oven to 350. Slice your apples thinly, making sure they are even so they can cook evenly. Add to a baking dish.

  2. On top of your apples, add your cornstarch, cinnamon, juice of half a lemon, maple syrup, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Mix together until combined. Lastly, add 1-2 tbsp of water to thicken up the "sauce" that the apples are now in.

  3. Bake for 30 minutes. Take out and stir. Add in 1 tbsp of butter and a top the apples with a sprinkle of turbinado sugar. Bake for an additional 5 minutes.

  4. Once done, eat immediately while warm! Add on whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for garnish if desired.
