A delightfully sweet treat made with a buttery oatmeal crust and filled with homemade blackberry jam.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix all dry ingredients together in a large mixing bowl.
Cut cold stick and a half of butter into small pieces. Mix in the butter with the dry ingredients. Use either a pastry cutter or your hands. This will take time - and it will resemble coarse pea size crumbs when you're finished.
Grease an 8x8 baking dish. Press half of the oat mixture firmly into the bottom of the pan.
Add jar of blackberry preserves (either 8-10 oz) and carefully spread it evenly over the mixture.
Press the other half of the oat mixture on top gently.
Place in the oven and bake for 35-40 minutes.
Let cool for at least 30 minutes! Serve and eat anytime (breakfast, snack or dessert!)
