If you desire your oatmeal thinner, add more milk! Adjust the consistency/sweetness as needed.
This Spiced Pear Oatmeal is truly the BEST cozy and warm breakfast. Loaded with sweet spiced pears, pecans and creamy oats - it is quick to whip up and is oh so delicious!
In a medium size pot, add the oats, milk, 1/4 tsp cinnamon, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Place the pot on medium heat and stir to combine.
Let cook on low/medium heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until it’s thickened to your desired consistency.
While it's cooking, quickly dice the pears and let 1 tbsp of butter melt in a pan on medium heat. Once butter has melted, add the pears and 1/4 tsp of cinnamon and stir together. Let cook for 3 minutes or until softened.
Once your desired consistency of oatmeal is reached, taste and adjust if needed. Add additional sweetener, more spice etc. Add a splash or two more milk if you prefer your oatmeal more thin.
Dish out into bowls, garnish with cooked pears, pecans, extra extra cinnamon and if desired, a splash more milk! Enjoy and eat while warm!
