Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/4 cup quick oats
  • 2 cups milk (of your choice! can use non-dairy or whole milk - can also use more milk if you prefer your oatmeal thinner)
  • 3 tbsp honey (or more depending on how sweet you like it)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries (and more for garnish)
  • sliced almonds, chia seeds, honey, etc for garnishes

Instructions

  1. In a medium size pot, add the oats, milk, honey, vanilla extract and blueberries. Place the pot on medium heat and stir to combine.

  2. Let cook on low/medium heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until it’s thickened to your desired consistency.

  3. If desired, use the spoon you are stirring the oatmeal with to pop the blueberries.

  4. Once your desired consistency is reached, taste and adjust if needed. Add additional sweetener, more spice etc. Add a splash or two more milk if you prefer your oatmeal more thin.

  5. Dish out into bowls, garnish with sliced almonds, chia seeds, extra blueberries and of course, a generous splash of heavy whipping cream. Enjoy and eat while warm!

Recipe Notes

If you desire your oatmeal thinner, add more milk! Adjust the consistency/sweetness as needed.
