Here are the 10 Top Recipes of 2018 from Our Balanced Bowl! I promise you’ll want to make every one of these tasty recipes in the coming year!
I thought I would end out this year by sharing the Top 10 Recipes from the blog that you guys loved! This time last year, I hardly had 5 recipes on my blog – so it feels so exciting to get to share these with you! I loved how this list turned out exactly how I wanted my blog to be – mostly healthy recipes but occasional indulgence!
Looking back, this year has been so amazing for Our Balanced Bowl. I’ve developed many loyal readers, become friends with so many fellow bloggers, really enhanced my cooking skills and pushed myself when it came to making recipes.
I can’t wait to share with you guys some amazing things I have in store for Our Balanced Bowl in 2019. I hope you all have an amazing New Year! See you in 2019!
Top 10 Recipes of 2018:
This recipe was the recipe that made me finally love brussel sprouts. They are crispy, caramelized and coated in a delicious homemade honey dijon glaze. Listen to what a reader, Jeanette had to say about them! “I made these for a Friendsgiving and for Thanksgiving with my family. They were a hit at both and my brother even asked for the recipe for a Friendsgiving he was attending. Delicious!”
I made this recipe based on something I used to have growing up that was just known as Tater Tot Casserole! This healthier version is made with lots of added veggies and subs sweet potato tots instead of the classic tater tots. It’s a hit and made in only one skillet!
These delicious gluten free chocolate chunk cookies are made with chickpea flour! They’re crispy on the outside, sweet and soft on the inside and loaded with chunks of chocolate in every bite! Perfect if you’re gluten free or if you’re just craving a delicious cookie!!
Oh my gosh. This is one of my all time favorite recipes. It’s such a crowd pleaser! Loaded with pockets of creamy delicious cheese, big noodles – it’s SO delicious and ridiculously easy. I promise you’ll never look back to boxed mac and cheese after making this recipe!
This recipe probably was my favorite one to shoot this year. It has so many colors and it turned out so beautiful! Not only beautiful, it’s delicious! Packed full of sweet and slightly spicy Thai flavors, this is a healthy bowl that you will want to add to your January Meal Plan! Just listen to what my reader, Mya said! “This is so good! The sauce is spicy and bombbbbb. I didn’t have all the ingredients so I made a couple subs with the bowl overall (did quinoa, broccoli and chickpeas with cauliflower rice, over arugula), but I’m so glad I found this! Kept the squash and the sauce the same and will be using this combo again for sure!”
I love love this recipe! Growing up, my Dad always made us sloppy joes. Pretty much because that’s the only thing he could cook…haha! These are a lightened up version made with a homemade sloppy joe sauce that totally beats out the canned sauce! Oh, and it’s also a one-skillet meal! Oh yes!
I love love this meal! It’s one of those – “throw it all into a big skillet, top with cheese and let it bake while you do other things” type of meal. It’s cheesy, healthy and delicious! Here’s what Stephanie had to say about it, “Made this for dinner tonight and Holy. Cow. So fast and SO delicious! Going into our permanent dinner rotation! Thanks for this amazing recipe!”
I made this recipe when everyone seemed to be over the moon about the everything bagel seasoning from Trader Joe’s…which I’m pretty sure everyone still is. Including me. I love this toast! It’s crunchy and delicious topped with smooth, creamy avocado, a buttery fried egg and a generous seasoning of everything bagel seasoning. Yum!
This breakfast is phenomenal! It’s a lightened up version of the Peaches and Cream packets of Instant Oatmeal that you used to eat as a kid! I love how sweet the peaches are – it makes it to where you don’t even need to add any extra sugar. Oh, and the creaminess…don’t even get me started! So delicious and easy! Prep overnight for an easy breakfast all week long!
This one was surprising! I absolutely love banana pudding. I ate it all the time growing up – but we always used the instant packs of pudding mix. When I set out to make my own homemade pudding this year, I was so nervous! But boy, I am never going back to the instant stuff. This homemade banana pudding is decadently creamy, over the top delicious and truly easy! Make it for any party and I promise you’ll be the most popular person there!
