USE OF COOKIES IN WP RECIPE MAKER:

WP Recipe Maker, the plugin used to make Our Balanced Bowl’s recipe cards, store the rating a user has given to a recipe along with the personal data WordPress core stores.

WP Recipe Maker stores a WPRM_User_Voted_%recipe% cookie (with %recipe% the ID of the recipe) that contains the rating the user has given to a particular recipe. This cookie is used as (one of the) measures to prevent rating spam.

WP Recipe Maker stores the IP address upon voting for user ratings. This is used as another measure to prevent rating spam.

WP Recipe Maker cookies are stored for 30 days. User submitted data is stored indefinitely in the local database.

Note: Users may, at any time, permanently prevent the setting of cookies, by using a corresponding setting of your internet browser. By choosing to prevent cookies, you may not have access to all of the features here on Our Balanced Bowl.

EMAIL NEWSLETTERS:

On ourbalancedbowl.com, you may subscribe to our newsletter, which may be used for advertising purposes. All newsletters sent may contain tracking pixels. The pixel is embedded in emails and allows an analysis of the success of online marketing campaigns. Because of these tracking pixels, we may see if and when you open an email and which links within the email you click. This also allows the Site to adapt the content of future newsletters to the interests of the user. This behavior will not be passed on to third parties.

Akismet is an anti-spam plugin we run here on Our Balanced Bowl to make sure to limit the amount of spam on the website. The information they collect typically includes the commenter’s IP address, user agent, referrer, and Site URL (along with other information directly provided by the commenter such as their name, username, email address, and the comment itself).

THIRD PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS:

The main third party service provider that we use is Google Analytics. This allows us to know how many users are visiting our site per day, where they are being referred from and how long they stay on our site. Our Balanced Bowl also uses Google Analytics for Demographics, Location and Audience Overview. This allows us to see what our users are interested in, what country they are located in, if they were referred to us via another website.
