This Pomegranate Prosecco Fizz is the ultimate fun and delicious beverage!
Well, the holidays have come and gone and we once again find ourselves in that weird week between Christmas and New Years where no one knows what day it is or how many days old the cookies you are currently eating are. Anyone with me?! Ha!
So, I’m bringing that energy directly into this delightful cocktail – which just so happens to be the ultimate drink to make for New Year’s Eve!
Why You’ll Love This Drink:
First off, it’s the perfect amount of festive without being Christmas-y. You have the gorgeous color of the fresh pomegranate juice and sugared rosemary as a garnish…but it doesn’t scream “Deck the Halls!”
It’s the perfect balance of sweet and fizzy! The pomegranate juice adds the sweetener to this drink and the Prosecco adds the fizz! Best of both worlds!
It does have vodka in it as well for an extra oomph of flavor! However, if you’re like me and enjoy just the simplicity of needing just one type of alcohol for your mixed drinks – you can skip the vodka.
I feel like pomegranate is such an underrated fruit this time of year – it’s packed with antioxidants and is SO incredibly juicy.
You can serve this in a fun champagne flute or in your favorite cocktail glass to “cheers” it to the New Year!
Ingredients You Need:
Pomegranate Juice – I used the Pom brand! Be sure it’s pure pomegranate juice with no added ingredients.
Vodka – the liquor used for this fun cocktail! See below for variations if needed.
Prosecco – needed for the fizz!
Simple Syrup – OPTIONAL but recommended if you like your drinks a bit sweeter)
Fresh pomegranate for garnish – I love these juicy little seeds!
Sugared Rosemary + Dried Orange for garnish – not needed, but it did really dress up this cocktail and make it beautiful!
Ingredient Variations:
If you don’t like prosecco – feel free to use ginger beer, club soda or seltzer for the “fizz”!
Vodka could be replaced with white rum or tequila.
You could always sub the pomegranate juice with cranberry juice – you will just have to add simple syrup to balance out the sweetness.
To add some floral notes to this drink, add in some St. Germain or other elderflower liqueur!
How to Make This Drink in 3 Simple Steps:
- In a cocktail shaker (or any jar with a lid!), add the pomegranate juice, vodka and ice. Shake shake shake until combined.
- Strain into your favorite cocktail glass. Be sure to leave room on top for prosecco!
- Top generously with prosecco. Garnish with rosemary, pomegranate seeds and an orange slice. Enjoy!
Best Tips for Success:
Unless you keep all of your ingredients in the fridge, be sure to use the cocktail shaker with ice to make sure that this cocktail is at the right temperature!
A higher quality vodka will yield to a better taste! I love using Tito’s. I think they are great quality for the price!
Be sure to use a 100% PURE pomegranate juice. Make sure there is no added sugar or ingredients.
If you like your drinks sweeter, be sure to taste the cocktail from the shaker – if it needs sweetener, add in agave or simple syrup and then shake to combine.
With whatever cocktail glass you are using, be sure to pour the cocktail with enough room to top with the fizzy prosecco.
Making Ahead:
Feel free to make this cocktail ahead of time – just be sure to store it in the fridge in the cocktail shaker or jar and WAIT to garnish with the prosecco until it’s time to drink it!
