My absolute favorite time of the year is here! The twinkle lights, the decorations, the holiday movies, the music constantly playing on the radio…ah, the holidays! Don’t you just love them?
To me, nothing starts the holiday season off like having a Christmas Cookie Decorating Party with your friends and family! I have done this for years now and each year I look forward to it.
There is really no better situation I can think of than being with my family and closest friends all warm and cozy, sipping hot cocoa making holiday treats and then enjoying them by the fire!
However, this year, I wanted to change it up! Yes, we all love the sugar cookies, snickerdoodles, and the brownies…but this year, I wanted to try something different! Something where everyone could be involved, young or old. Something where everyone could contribute and place their own unique spin on.
Enter this Melted Snowmen Bark! AKA the cutest holiday treat you will eat this season! I bought all of my ingredients at my local Harris Teeter, which is my favorite place to grocery shop during the holidays! They are always stocked up with everything I need and they always have the best sales.
Why I Love this Melted Snowmen Bark
The base of this Melted Snowmen Bark consists of my favorite Honey Maid Graham Crackers, which we all know are delicious enough to eat on their own! But, from there, you melt smooth and silky white chocolate on top of them. Sprinkle some white decorating sugar on top for that fun “snowy” effect.
Then the real fun starts! You get to decorate your snowmen! You got the pretzel sticks for arms, mini chocolate chips for buttons (or, festive red + green sprinkles!), carrot sprinkles for noses and for extra deliciousness, Original Fudge Dipped Oreo Thins Bites as the hats!
Yes, you read that right. Fudge Dipped Oreo Thins Bites. And yes, they are as delicious as they sound.
This all results in a delicious, sweet, salty and festive treat! My family and I ended up eating ours as we watched my favorite Christmas movie – Home Alone! These Melted Snowmen Bark were easily the star of the show and we all had SUCH a fun evening.
So, let’s get into how to make this delicious Melted Snowmen Bark!
Ingredients You Need for Melted Snowmen Bark:
- 12 HONEY MAID Honey Grahams
- 2 packages (4 oz. each) of white baking chocolate
- 1 and ½ tsp of white decorating sugar
- 12 Original Fudge Dipped OREO Thins Bites
- 12 pretzel sticks, broken in half
- 24 mini candy button eyes
- 12 carrot shaped sprinkles
- 36 miniature semi-sweet chocolate chips (I used the Harris Teeter Brand!)
How to Make Melted Snowmen Bark:
Begin, as always, by grabbing a large baking sheet. Line the baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place the Honey Maid Grahams in a single layer with the sides touching. See photo below for reference:
Melt the white chocolate using a double boiler method or just the microwave. Make sure it’s super smooth and silky.
Spread the white chocolate over the Honey Maid Grahams. Sprinkle the white decorating sugar on top to achieve the super snowy look!
Now it’s time to decorate the snowmen! Use the Fudge Dipped OREO Thins Bites for little hats, the candy eyes for eyes (of course!), the carrot sprinkle as the nose, the pretzel sticks as the little arms and you must have cute buttons! Feel free to use the miniature chocolate chips or festive round sprinkles! We all ended up doing a combination of both.
Pop the bark into the fridge to make sure that the chocolate gets firm – about 30 minutes. Once it’s firm, break into pieces and serve!
Melted Snowmen Bark Tips/Notes:
If desired, you can substitute white candy wafers for the white baking chocolate.
I also highly recommend using some festive round sprinkles for the buttons on the snowmen in addition to the mini chocolate chips. It makes it so fun!
