Hello easy weeknight meals! Being 32 weeks pregnant with a 2 year old running around, I need something quick and easy. Enter these Maple Sriracha Chicken Bowls!

Why You’ll Love These Bowls:

The tender and perfectly cooked chicken – There is nothing worse than when you bite into chicken and it’s super duper chewy and overdone. This chicken is perfectly cooked and melts in your mouth with each bite.

The sweet and spicy glaze – Hello maple sriracha! The combination of naturally sweet maple syrup with the smoky spiced sriracha is PERFECTION.

Buttery rice – Rice is the best, it soaks up all the extra glaze of the maple sriracha sauce. I use organic white rice for this recipe and I love adding in some butter for extra flavor.

Your favorite cooked vegetables – This recipe is super customizable, you can add whatever veggies you’d like! I personally loved quickly sauteing up some broccoli. It adds a delicious crunch and freshness to the bowl.

Simple to make and OH so delicious – Did I mention this is a super simple recipe to make? You can even cook the veggies in the pan you cook the chicken in to save time! Each bite is perfect and you’re going to love it. So let’s get into what you need for it!

Ingredients You Need:

Avocado Oil – this will be used to cook the chicken in a pan!

Chicken Breast – You’ll want to cut these into small bite size chunks. This will ensure that it’s cooked quickly and evenly!

Maple Syrup – use PURE maple syrup for this recipe!

Soy Sauce – this really helps season the chicken.

Sriracha – a must!

Salt – just a pinch should do!

Lime – I love using lime for this recipe for a burst of freshness.

Rice – I used white rice for this recipe.

Butter – I love adding butter to the rice!

Broccoli – I used broccoli as my veggie option for this recipe, SO good.

Ingredient Substitutions:

You can use any veggie you want, just be sure to saute it until cooked to your liking. You can use sliced bell peppers, cauliflower, sweet potato or broccoli like I did!

You can use brown rice, jasmine or basmati rice. You can also use orzo as well!

If you want to save time, use the quick cook rice or microwavable!

You can use honey instead of maple syrup, just be sure it’s 100% honey.

How to Make Bowls Step by Step:

  1. Cut the chicken breasts into bite size chunks. Add to a bowl.
  2. To the bowl, add the maple syrup, soy sauce, sriracha, juice of 1/2 a lime and pinch of salt. Mix together.
  3. Cook your rice according to package directions. Once done, add a pat of butter and keep the rice warm.
  4. Add a splash of avocado oil to a large skillet on medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken and cook for 7-10 minutes, flipping halfway, until done.
  5. While the chicken is cooking, dice the broccoli into small florets.
  6. Once the chicken is done, remove the chicken to a warm place and add the broccoli and cook for 3-4 minutes, flipping occasionally.
  7. Mix the ingredients for the glaze in a small bowl.
  8. To a bowl, add the cooked rice, cooked veggies and the chicken.
  9. Generously drizzle the chicken with the glaze. Enjoy while warm!

Best Bowl Making Tips:

Even though I run a food blog and have my own preferences….I know that everyone has different tastes!

The good news about this glaze? You can really make it to your preference!

If you’re like my husband and enjoy things super duper spicy, add in extra sriracha!

Like it a little extra sweet? Add more maple syrup! You can completely customize the glaze!

I personally like to cook the broccoli IN the pan after I cook the chicken. Just be sure to keep both the chicken and the rice warm while the broccoli is cooking for a few minutes!

If there is any leftover sauce in the pan, be sure to drizzle that over the chicken as well!

Storing Leftovers:

To store leftovers, simply add them to a sealed tupperware container and place in the refrigerator. It will remain good for up to 3 days!
