These Buffalo Chicken Flatbread Pizzas are the ultimate easy and delicious weeknight dinner! Made with store bought naan, these are a breeze to whip up and have SO much buffalo flavor!
So if y’all didn’t know, I am 100 percent at a place in my life where I need most things to be easy.
Life with a 6 month old keeps me on my toes and always busy so….I need easy breakfasts, easy lunches and most importantly easy DINNERS.
Because most people (especially me and Jack) are exhausted by the end of the day and most of the time I really don’t want a recipe involving 25 ingredients and steps to get to the end goal.
So….enter these Buffalo Chicken Flatbread Pizzas! *cue crowd cheering*!
Why You’ll Love this Recipe:
- As mentioned above, these flatbread pizzas are incredibly low maintenance. Made with just a few basic ingredients (most of which you might already have at home), these are simple!
- The buffalo flavor here is GREAT. It’s not overwhelming – instead very well balanced out by the melty cheese, other crunchy veggie on top.
- It’s a fact – anything with extra cheese makes life or a hard day better.
- The naan remains crispy on the bottom but fluffy and soft on the inside – it’s the perfect combination for a homemade “pizza”!
- And finally….two words: homemade ranch. Need I say more?!
Ingredients You Need:
- Store bought Garlic Naan – you can use plain, but I prefer the extra flavor of garlic naan, and it’s usually the same price point.
- Chicken breast – You will be dicing up the chicken into bite size pieces and cooking it that way. To save time, you could always substitute a rotisserie chicken or use leftover cooked plain chicken.
- Store bought buffalo/hot sauce – I like Frank’s Red Hot for buffalo sauce and Texas Pete is the best hot sauce around!
- Shredded cheese – I ended up using shredded pepper jack cheese but you can use mozzarella or monterey jack here.
- Butter + Garlic Powder + Salt – You use these to add to the buffalo sauce to make it SUPER yummy.
- Olive or Avocado Oil – This will be used to cook the chicken.
- Additional pizza toppings – This is up to you, but I did minced red onion and then fresh green onion on top. Red pepper flakes were a must for me. Add enjoyed fresh jalapenos on his if you want an extra kick!
How to Make Flatbread in 5 Simple Steps
Dice the chicken into bite size pieces and cook until done.
Mix buffalo sauce, melted butter, garlic powder and salt in a bowl. Add MOST of the sauce to the pan (leave just a little bit extra in the bowl!) with the cooked chicken and mix together. It should look something like this:
Preheat the oven and add the naan directly on the oven rack. Bake for 2 minutes and remove. Place naan on a large sheet pan. Using a kitchen brush, add the remaining sauce from the buffalo sauce bowl to the naan bread.
Top with the cheese, toppings and the buffalo chicken.
Bake until bubbly and golden. Top with homemade ranch and green onions.
Expert Pizza Making Tips:
I always add only HALF of my cheese to the bottom of the naan, then I add the toppings and then I top with the rest of the cheese. This really spreads the cheese out and makes sure it’s extra yummy!
Make sure you drizzle the homemade ranch generously over top of the pizza – it really gives you that classic buffalo wing + ranch at a pub vibe.
You can always use store bought ranch but I would highly recommend you make my homemade ranch dressing recipe – it’s creamy, tangy and SO good. You’ll never go back to store bought, I promise!
If you’re low on time, feel free to use rotisserie chicken or precooked chicken instead of cooking your own.
For extra caramelization on top – I often like to pop my pizza on broil for just a couple minutes. Just be sure to watch it very carefully as it could burn!
Pair this pizza with a refreshing beverage like an ice cold sparkling water, hazy IPA or my personal Summery favorite – peach coconut mojito!
Storing and/or Reheating Leftovers:
If you have leftovers, store them in the fridge in tightly sealed tupperware.
To reheat, I always love putting my oven on low broil and letting the pizza heat up low and slow. But, if you’re in a time crunch you could always just pop it in the microwave for 45 seconds or so.
I hope you enjoy this delicious and simple recipe! Keep a look out for many more this Fall season!

Buffalo Chicken Flatbread Pizzas
These Buffalo Chicken Flatbread Pizzas are the ultimate easy and delicious weeknight dinner! Made with store bought naan, these are a breeze to whip up and have SO much buffalo flavor!
Ingredients
- 2 large pieces of garlic naan, store bought
- 1 large chicken breast, diced into small bite size pieces
- 1 tsp olive oil
- generous pinch of salt to season chicken
Buffalo Sauce
- 1/4 cup buffalo sauce
- 2 tbsp melted salted butter
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
Pizza Toppings
- 2.5-3 cups shredded cheese (I used pepperjack, can use mozzarella)
- minced red onion, diced green onion (can also use jalapeno, red pepper flakes etc.)
- ranch dressing to top (homemade recipe linked above - store bought also works!)
Instructions
-
Mince red onion and dice green onion for pizza toppings. Set aside for now. Using the same cutting board, dice the chicken into bite size pieces.
-
To a skillet, add the olive oil and let it heat on medium heat. Once hot, add the diced chicken along with a generous pinch of salt to season. Let cook for 5-7 minutes until done, stirring occasionally to ensure it's evenly cooked.
-
While the chicken is cooking, melt butter in a small bowl. Let it cool for a couple minutes and then add in the garlic powder and buffalo sauce. Whisk together until combined.
-
Once the chicken is done, add ALMOST all of the buffalo sauce to the chicken in the skillet, stir to combine and let it stay warm on low medium heat.
-
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Once warmed, add the 2 naan flatbreads directly on the oven rack for 2 minutes. Remove after 2 minutes and place on a sheet pan.
-
Using a kitchen brush, brush the remaining buffalo sauce from the bowl on top of the warm naan bread.
-
Add a sprinkling of cheese to each piece of naan. Split the buffalo chicken between both of the naan flatbreads and then top with the minced red onion. Finally, add the remaining cheese between the two - around 1.5 cups of cheese per flatbread.
-
Bake for 8-10 minutes or until cheese is golden and bubbly.
-
While the pizza is baking, if you are making homemade ranch, now's the time to whip it up! See blog post above for full recipe link.
-
Once it's done, remove from the oven and top with diced green onion, a generous drizzle of homemade ranch and red pepper flakes.
-
Eat immediately! Enjoy!
